A Youth Mental Health Documentary + Community Conversation
SHIFT: Do What Moves You is the new documentary from Tell My Story that ignites possibility and inspiration.
Through the real stories of young people discovering joy and resilience in passions like sports, music, art, theater— and countless other ways of expressing what moves them — SHIFT flips the script, from struggle to strength.
Each screening is designed to be a shared experience that sparks conversation, connection, and community support.
A documentary that shares the powerful journeys of 13 young people as they find resilience and hope through their passions.
A discussion led by a local mental health professional, where youth, parents, caregivers, and educators can reflect, ask questions, and explore ways to support one another better.
This project isn’t just about preventing tragedy, though that’s always critical.
It’s about the life we want young people to experience: one that’s filled with connection, support, joy, and fulfillment.
By watching together, families and communities can create safe spaces for open conversations around mental wellbeing, replace fear with hope, and build stronger support networks for the next generation.
Bring SHIFT: Do What Moves You to your school, church, or community, at no cost.
